Programa preliminar: Professor Vahid Yücesoy, from University of Montreal, will discuss the key features of Turkey's modern history, from the decline of the Otoman Empire decline to the rise of president Recep Erdogan. The lecture will also examine the two World Wars, the foundation of the Turkish Republic and the country's military interventions.
